I began my career in education and child protection, gaining hands on experience in safeguarding roles that gave me a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in keeping both children and adults safe. Over the years, I have honed my skills as a safeguarding lead, working with a much wider range of organisations, from schools and charities to local authorities.
Through my work, I have seen the positive impact that effective safeguarding practices can have on an organisation and its ability to protect its community. This inspired me to set up Ivy Safeguarding, a consultancy dedicated to providing expert guidance on all aspects of safeguarding, from policy development to training and compliance audits. I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead for a large international not-for-profit and for two smaller organisations within the United Kingdom, enabling me to remain at the frontline of safeguarding whilst maintaining a wide portfolio of freelance clients.
